Solution - Graphite Electrode anti-oxidation

When Graphite Electrode used in the high-temperature oxidation environment in electric arc furnace or refining furnace, the Graphite Electrode will be sublimated, due to the reaction among arc, gas and oxygen under high tempreture, will cause the Graphite Electrode to be continuously consumed and even fracture or breakage.

The side oxidation of the Graphite Electrode accounts for 40-60% of the total consumption.

Oxidation of the side of the Graphite Electrode leads to a continuous decrease in the diameter of the arc of the Graphite Electrode, which increases the instability of the arc combustion and correspondingly increases the power consumption per ton of steel produced.

When the threaded portion of the Graphite Electrode is oxidized, the threaded section of the electrode joint is thinned, which may cause accidents in which the Graphite Electrode is broken or the lower portion of the Graphite Electrode is detached.

In response to this situation, the anti-oxidation electrode coating produced by Rongxing is a function of the standard free energy as a function of temperature in response to oxygen.

The anti-oxidation electrode coating selects a material having a higher affinity for oxygen than carbon-oxygen in selecting a raw material, preferentially takes oxygen, oxidizes itself, and protects the Graphite Electrode.

The volume of the new phase formed after oxidation is larger than that of the original phase, which helps to block the inward diffusion channel of oxygen and form an anti-oxidation electrode coating.
